Within the Shubenacadie (pronounced "Shoo-ben-ack-a-dee") Wildlife Park's 40 hectares is all the wonder and excitement millions of visitors have enjoyed for over sixty years.
Operated by the Nova Scotia Department of Natural Resources and Renewables, our facility places special emphasis on providing a wide range of outdoor recreational and educational opportunities to Nova Scotians and visitors alike.
The vision of the Shubenacadie Wildlife Park is a Nova Scotia where there is a greater understanding of nature, its components, systems and diversity, by Nova Scotians and visitors, through a variety of educational and recreational opportunities.
The mission of the Shubenacadie Wildlife Park, in accordance with the Wildlife Act and in partnership with Ducks Unlimited Canada, is to provide high quality nature education to the general public, through active and passive programs that can incorporate captive wildlife, educational trails, outreach programs, and virtual products.
From the first three captive Chinese ring-necked pheasants in 1949 to the partner-integrated, sprawling park of today, Shubenacadie Wildlife Park continues to showcase and educate its visitors on matters of wildlife and ecosystems.
